"Never Let Me Go"

Just today I went to see the movie "Never Let Me Go". A small independant movie that stars Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield, and Keira Knightly. The film is three small children being raised in a boarding school for children. The school only has one purpose to keep these kids healthy and happy so once they come of age they can donate their organs to people who need them. The movie pretty much tells you this from the beginning so you think this may be a secret for the end but no. The main story line is the relationship between three people Kathy, Tommy, and Ruth. Some might even argue it is the love story of two extremely tragic characters Kathy and Tommy.

I drove for an hour to see this movie and may I say it was completely worth the drive. This movie was well made in every aspect. The one thing I think one can argue is that the pacing may be a bit slow for some. What I feel this movie does best is the delivery of emotion between the characters. Carey Mulligan plays Kathy the narrator of the story and probably the one character most aware of their fate and the sweetest. Carey Mulligan pulled you and shows the point of view from this girl and the way she portray this girls kindness makes it even more heart wrenching. Andrew Garfield plays Tommy a boy with the most naive innocence and slight temper issues. I feel this character is the most tragic. He simply wont accept what will happen to all of them till last minute and the realization that he cant stop what is about to happen Andrew without saying a word shows it all in his eyes and sells it hook line and sinker and then the scene with his scream literally brought me to tears.

The romance between Kathy and Tommy is portrayed by Carey and Andrew with the greatest chemistry and yet a tragedy in it that I have never seen. The final role and is very vital is Ruth played by Keira Knightly. I personally feel this is her best performance she has given and I normally find her acting stale and tired , but in this she give a humanity to a character that could be easily hated. Keira shows a sadness in a charater that would rather hurt those who care most about her than be alone.

The writing in the film is simple but elagant and never once do you believe that it is forced or unbelievable. The simplicity is really refreshing when I feel today people want to fill scripts with alot of pompous dialoge to show how smart they are especially in small art house films. The cinamatography is was good as it showed this world as dreary and all in all fit the film like a glove. The make up and costumes gave the characters a look like some sort of surviors of camps and it fits with what these characters go through. Having to survive miltiple tranplants just to do it all over again and clothes that look worn out. the ending of all these characters are heartbreaking and poetic and after watching this movie and having time to fully think it over I feel this movie a piece of poetry  from word to movement. I hope many will take a chance and see this film. The music just added the last final voice to the film and was perfect I just the the song that shares the title to the film and think it just make the love between Tommy and Kathy just more gripping please play the song below to hear.

To What Point!

I know this is a feeling that many have wrestled with in their lives. Does their prescence really make difference. At this point I feel that I have not really made a effect on those around me. Maybe I set my standards to high. I mean I want to be remembered when I die and many people go through life and remain unnoticed. I want people to know that they are not alone. I want to create profound stories about woman and their strengths and tragedies. Females are so underused in hollywood. I hope one day I get show the world what I have to say and they love it.

"The Social Network"

I saw this film this wednesday and now I find it to ve one of my favorite movies ever. I just want to see it again and again.
*This review may contain spoilers*

I find the film oddly hypnotic and though the movies is technically long for typical movie standards you honstly dont feel it until the movie ends and someone tells you or you find out how long you have been in the theater. The movies overall look is so normal and realistic and not glammed up or flasshy the colors are quite drab but only adds to the film not take away from it. David Fincher's directing kicked ass. Some of his decisions I thought were subtle but awesome. How many time have people gone to see a movie and when there is a scen where the characters are in a club it is remarkably silent and everyone is heard perfectly. In the film there is a scen between Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake and though you can hear them perfectly it stills seems like there are in a club. This may seem small to alot of people it is to me a major film geek a big deal. The pacing of the movie is fast though you never think it until you dont know what hit you.
The performances in this movie are remarkable. To start with Jesse Eisenberg though already known for playing a geek like guy in many of his previous film still plays a character unlike any he has played before. This part seemed so complex to me. The part you go into wanting to like. This character is after all the man who helped create facebook. The website that many of us are addicted and may have even changed or help to define a generation slightly. But the arrogance of the character just makes you annoyed and this is fully intentional. At first during the film I was beginning to swear off my facebook and not the support. Then Jesse Eisenberg I feel pulls the boat around and makes you like him again and find him a bit more understanding though it still upsets me what he did to Eduardo.

This leads me to talk about Andrew Garfield's performance in the film. He plays Eduardo Saverin, Mark Zuckerberg's best friend and first investor in facebook. He also became the business half and helped creating. Though Mark was mainly the creative half and creator I firmly believe facebook would not be here without Eduardo help. But back to the actual performane. Andrew makes this character completely likeable and I found myself on his side through out the entire film. He brings a sympathy to the character that just pulls you in.

Then finally there is finally Justin Timberlake who I feel to the general public everyone likes somewhat. In this movie I just wanted to ring his neck and that is fully intentional this not a guy you would want around mostly. He splits the team up for the most part and horns in on the website and then screws himself out of a cozy lifestyle by pulling a idiotic move. In the beginning  he is charismatic but you see the true colors in the end and Justin plays it perfectly showing the what needs to be seen at the time and place slowly showing.
As a future potential screenwriter I love the dialogue and believe it is completely believable and suits all the character like a glove. I know I went all gushy on this movie but I hope more people go to see it.

I would like to note though this is my opinion and may differ so if not constructive and intelligent comments please keep them to yourself.

What Matters......

I dont understand the state of people today. Our society is what I call the throw away society. If people grow tired or dont like anything they throw it away. People as a couple as soon as it doesnt work they end it and people wonder why were at a 50% divorce rate. I mean why do people run when it gets hard? Everything now is made so quick and easy that when anything comes along that doesnt work with the slightest of ease they quit. I mean I know that there are deal breakers to any situations like beaters. Thats when you leave, but not everything is that hard. Like the people who get married for 24 hours and then it clearly wont work out. What made that person horrible a few hours later that wasnt apparent earlier.
Then there is this need of screwing people over. In my life I have had people in a none romantic way break my heart. Decieving me or letting me down when it mattered the most because it wasnt convient for them. I consider my self to be a fiercly loyal person and I neverquite a person until the only option left is them hurting me or make me a lesser person. Then there are the people that make you move far away from people and the desert you and go back leaving you to survive on your own. Yes these moments make you a stronger in the long run, but what none sees is that it leaves scars that wont ever heal. I mean I have issues I wouldnt have if people could just be good to one another and think of others. I know everyone has issues and it is near impossible to go through life without not getting any scars. I fear where people are going sometimes because though there are still people who help but there are to many that dont. Not even help just care. Being a best friend means sticking around when it is hard not just when it is fun or your benefit. What do you think?
I also just found out I am losing a little eight yearold girl that I have consider my light in my life since the day I held in my arms at the hospital. Though she is not my own child nor a niece, I still vowed that I would protect till the day I die. Now I dont know if I shall ever see her again. She is moving away now since her mother feels the need to leave the state. It is not in the best needs of the child to leave but the mothers. What makes this ok? I dont what I will ever do with myself without her in my life, I guess now though I may have to find out, though I wont give up without a fight.

Velvet Goldmine

The first movie I want to talk about is probably my most favorite movie of all time. Velvet Goldmine is a movie about the glam rock era over in the UK. Thought the movie complete fiction I still love this movie to death. Many dont get it and probably never will the movie is a real treat for those that do.

It is about Brian Slade a glam rocker who caused a lot of controvery and even faked his death. Well on the anniverary of the incident a reporter investigates into it and gets pulled deeper and deeper into the truth and this man's life. It Stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ewan McGregor, and Toni Collette. If you ever get the chance to see it I would love to know others opinions.

The music fits the film perfectly with the perfect songs. The songs are up beat and you will have to think about what they mean but still catchy. The whole movie makes you think and I feel you may need a liberal mind to watch it. The ending is slightly odd and will leave you with partly your own interpretation, but totally fitting. The look of the film is fantastic and bright. the acting is really genius because with the contents of the script it could have been really over acted. It leaves a statment for anyone whoever felt different and needed to express themselves despite what people thought.

The Beginning

Hello everybody! This is my first Blog ever and started it to share my beliefs and feelings to the world ot least to anyone willing to read about them. I want to make films one day and right now I am going to school for it. For the first time in my life I am on my own with no one from my support team to back me up. I sometimes feel that the moments when your on your own and by yourself truely test who you are.

I will also talk about movies and television too. Since I am going to go to school for them I assume people will think I will talk about them. I am very opiniated and I feel that turns so many away from talking to me. I want this blog to also let people know they are not alone or at least for me to know I am not alone. I will just have random subjects from day to day that I want to discuss.
